New Deck!

As part of his "honey-do" list Devin built a deck onto the back of our house. I am very impressed with how well it turned out! He did such a great job and worked hard to get it finished. I can't wait to have our first BBQ on it!

Fun Weekend

Devin's sister Lillie has been visiting for the past few days. We have had some wonderful weather and have tried to take advantage of it. On Sunday we took a nice walk at the Ekulutna Lake. Today we went to the Eagle River Visitor Center. It has been so fun having her here. It makes us wish she lived closer!

Grandma and Grandpa Pehrson

Dylan and Lindsey really enjoy being with their Grandma and Grandpa Pehrson. We teased that when the twins would come home they would never want to be put down because Grandma liked to spoil them by holding them whenever possible. Luckily they have transitioned well but I can tell that they do miss being spoiled like they were.

Home From a Great Vacation

We are now home in Alaska after a wonderful visit to Utah. The twins were able to meet so many different people. They were very popular and had aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins wrapped around their fingers. Thank you to everyone for the fun times. Here are some pictures of some of the family and friends we were able to visit.

Devin's sister Leslie came down to visit from Pocatello.

Here is our niece Hannah. It was fun to see Lillie and her family another one of Devin's sisters. They came to visit at my parents house and we then went to their's in Springville.

My Grandma Hartley (on the right) and her sister Roberta came from Oregon to see the twins. It was so nice to visit with them!

My Sister Michele and I hung out every second we could. It was fun to get to know little Olivia!

My Grandpa Pehrson came by to visit several times. It was so nice to see him.

We had a great visit with our longtime friends Chris, Konae and Ryker Putman.

I was able to have a nice picinic with my friend Cassie and her daughter Jenasen.

I have been tagged "it" twice to do this picture tag, so I thought I better. This picture of Devin and I was taken at the Logan, UT Temple in April 2006. We moved to Alaska a few weeks after this picture was taken. It brought back great memories of living in my Grandpa's house and taking walks up to the temple. I can't wait to visit my sister Michele and walk up the same trail to the Temple. She lives a little further than we did, but not by much.

We went to Kenai the other day to enjoy the beach. It was a little cold but we did get a nice little walk in.

A couple of stories that aired on the radio this week

I was interviewed a couple days ago for this story about our PFD study, which I'll be in Kodiak conducting next week.

When we were in Homer doing the PFD study field work, a reporter followed us on a vessel and put together this piece:

Today I (Devin) got off work early and we went skiing at Nancy Lake near Willow. The weather was nice - 40 degrees and sunny, and the trail was in decent shape. We did a fun 3 mile loop with lots of ups and downs and the twins had a great time. Here is a little video of Jenny falling on her butt, I mean bum - whatever.

Reminiscing on Good Times

Lately I have been thinking about some good memories that I have had. This video kept popping in my head. This was filmed on December 31, 2005. We went cross country skiing at Squirrel Hallow in Idaho close to where I grew up. My Dad, my sister Michele, her then boyfriend now husband Wayne and Devin's sisters Leslie, Lillie her husband Clark and their son Ben. We were coming back from a ski and I decided I wanted to go down this hill for a little rush. Well the video says it all... Good Times!
