Alaskan Hwy Part II

Here are a few more pictures of our journey.


This picture was not staged! It happened Devin was driving and received a call from work needing some information on his computer. The twins had been "typing" on their computers before the phone call. I was admiring the view when I turned and look at all three of them on their computers.

Thought that this picture was funny! Lindsey was so excited about this sign. Don't know why but made her happy. Maybe it was because we were finally at a rest area in our home country! Very different from the ones we had been to for the past 6 days.

Swimming! Until this trip the twins had not been swimming. They are starting to enjoy it more and more.

Alaskan Hwy Part One

Wanted to document our adventure down the Alaskan Highway. We drove 2600 miles in 7 days with two 18 month olds and a dog! We actually survived this journey and looking back it was an enjoyable ride. The twins did great with movies, snacks, new toys and music. (We probably listened to their favorite CD about 300 times or more. This was the only way they would sleep or be happy when mad) We saw 5 black bears, 5 moose, a ton of buffalo, 4 mountain goats, 1 caribou, and 3 deer. Here are some pictures of the first half of our trip. We have some great video of the twins on our journey that will be posted later.

This buffalo also crossed the road. The funny part is that we were in construction zone and there was a lady on some equipment 15 yards from this thing laughing. The Truck behind us stopped, got out (brave man) and took an even closer picture.

Dylan running around in the rain. We tried to stop every two hours which was about 100 miles. We did on average 400 miles a day.

This is in the sign forest in Watson Lake. Day 5. This forest has over 62,000 signs from all over the world. This picture would have been even better if the Idaho plate was a Utah plate but we can pretend.

Mirror Lake

A couple of weeks ago we had a wonderful picnic with Grandma and Grandpa Lucas. The twins had a lot fun exploring the park and lake. We had a great time.

Memorial Day

I know it is a week late, but we had such a fun Memorial Day weekend. We went on a nice little hike with Grandma and Grandpa Lucas at South Fork in Eagle River. It was such a gorgeous day! We had a great time with them. We then came home and had a BBQ. Lindsey was Mommy's little helper washing the strawberries. Luckily it wasn't until most of the strawberries were washed that she figured out you can eat them :) Dylan enjoyed his first taste of Watermelon which we happened to capture on video. It was the perfect day!

Update

It's been a little while since I have blogged. Life has been full of excitement and change. Devin's been travelling a lot with work. I went to Utah to help Michele with her new baby by myself . We SOLD our house! Devin turned 30!! Now we are moving to Corvallis, OR in first part of July instead of August! Our summer is just getting started here in Alaska and the twins have been enjoying the weather. They love being outside and helping around the yard. Here they were helping Devin fix his trailer.

Pictures 15 Months

Here are some pictures of the twins that were taken at JC Penney last week. It was almost a year ago when we went and got their 3 month pictures taken. They were so small and delicate and didn't really smile yet. Now, I can hardly believe that they are running around and making each other giggle. What cute little people they are turning into. Their smiles and laughter make it the best part of being a parent. Enjoy!

Silly Kiddos

I was looking through all my posts and realized that they are all about the kids. Right now the twins keep us entertained and busy leaving nothing else important to post about. So enjoy these silly pictures of our silly twins.

Lindsey decided that her favorite shirt to wear is one of Momma's. She went around for about an hour wearing it :)
One day while I was folding clothes the twins were bored and kept getting into things. Lindsey found this hat and scarf. It is actually from a snowman making kit I've had for a few years. This hat has been the means of entertainment for many hours. They put it on and chase each other around the house. We have had lots of laughs and smiles. This is such a fun stage!

St. Patrick's Day

Here are some pictures on St Patrick's Day. For Dinner we had Irish Soda Bread, Irish Potatoes, green jello, and green salad. I love St. Patrick's day!!
