Easter Weekend

 We had a nice Easter, the best part was having Grandpa Lucas here to celebrate!  He brought wonderful weather that included the sun!!!!  Of course we had to bask in it's heat and enjoy the reason we celebrate Easter.

Spring Break

 For Spring Break we were able to have Devin with us for a few days.  Mostly we enjoyed each other's company, not really doing anything too exciting.  One day we decided to go to Salem, we rode the carousel (was sad none of the pictures turned out) and went to a 50's diner.  We had such a perfect day together, ending it by going to the park and a nice BBQ outside.

 The rainy weather really started to take it's toll on us.  We were getting spring fever and really needed to do something fun, cheap and entertaining.  We decided to pull out the swimming pool and bring out the balls.  The twins insisted on putting on their swimming suits while they played.  It helped to have a something to do for a few hours.

Family Project

Several weeks ago I was complaining about the stool we had in the bathroom for the twins to step on.  It wasn't the right height and Dylan kept slipping on it and it wasn't safe.  Devin went out to the garage and created this stool with scrap wood we had.  The twins and I painted and decorated it to add a little flavor to the bathroom.  It was fun to see the finished product that each of us had a hand in creating.  The twins love it and washing hands isn't such a big issue!

March Snowfall

At the end of March we woke up one morning to three inches of snow!  The twins were so excited that before 8:00am  we had built this fun snowman.

 The next day we still had snow on the ground so we decided to build a little fort...

Dancing

I can't stop watching this video of Dylan and Lindsey dancing, so I thought I would share it.  It makes me giggle every time I watch it.  This is Lindsey's signature move,  every now and then she will throw in a jump spin to spice it up a little bit :) The first few seconds really are the best so try and catch her wiggle those hips like crazy.

Lindsey Babe

When I was younger and thought about my future children, I always pictured myself having boys.  I never thought that I would have a girl, I like sports, hiking, rough housing, I felt that boys would be perfect for me. When we found out we were going to have a little girl I was secretly panicking inside, my thoughts were "I can't do hair, I am not stylish, can I handle the moodiness?"  But this little girl has brought something out of me that I never imagined.  I am doing her hair (especially proud of the braids), painting fingernails, playing with dolls, and dancing on a daily basis.  I am absolutely in love with her and can't get enough of her energetic personality.
It is so much fun seeing what she will come up with next.  She loves to tell stories, in fact she just loves to talk.  Talking is her way of learning, asking questions and making sure she understands her world.  The other thing she loves to do is draw and create.  Lindsey comes up with the most interesting and creative drawings, She likes to do her homework and takes it very seriously (her homework usually entails a princess notebook and a drawing of her own creation :).
Every time I look at her she has a new outfit on.  She loves clothes and likes to mix and match.  One second she will be in a polka dot skirt and a flowered shirt and the next she'll have striped purple pants and an a fluorescent colored  printed dress.  Let's not forget the princess dresses she for about two-thirds of the day.  When we drop Dylan off at school his teacher always asks Lindsey what princess she for the day.

Lindsey has such an intelligent, creative and upbeat personality which shows in these silly pictures of our everyday life.

The Dylan Shmylan

Our Sweet boy has blossomed over the last few months.  Dylan has been able to communicate better, therefore, entertaining us by his imagination.  He likes to play with his dinosaurs, dance in his dress up clothes, build towers with his blocks and play birthday.  In fact the last is his favorite thing to do.  Almost everyday he takes his "birthday cake" he makes with the blocks and sings to us waiting for one of us to blow out the candle.  One day we caught a photo of  him with his "birthday hat and cake".  He's getting really good at singing the birthday song the entire way through and will randomly sing it throughout the house. 

The other thing he truly loves is his daddy.  He loves to help Daddy.  The other day Devin was out changing the oil in the car and Dylan came out to help and He saw Daddy working with his wrench.  He ran into the house all of a sudden searching for something.  When he came back he had his wrench in his hand and looked at the car searching for Devin's. I love the picture we caught of them with their wrenches. He is such a kind-hearted boy, Dylan is constantly trying to help and make us all happy.  He is very protective of Lindsey and is always watching out for her.  He gets very concerned when she is upset or hurt and won't stop until she is happy again.  

Switzerland Day 9 (Last Day - Sept 20)

Mom spent the day with Grossmama and Grosspapa. I left early and took a train to Neuchatel, which is on a beautiful lake in the French speaking part of Switzerland. After exploring Neuchatel, I traveled to Murten and then back to Bern. In the afternoon, Dori drove us to Zurich to a hotel near the airport. We stopped at Erni's house on the way and visited for a while. We spent our last night in Switzerland in Zurich at the hotel, then flew home early Tuesday morning.

Switzerland Day 8

Sunday, Sept 19. Nelli spent the night on Saturday after the birthday party. We stayed at Grossmama and Grosspapa's all morning and visited. After lunch, Nelli, Mom and I took the tram over to Max and Marianne's house to visit. Later, Mom and I took a long walk around Bern. We visited the house where she was a child and went up a nice hill overlooking the city.We had dinner with Grossmama and Grosspapa and spent the evening with them.
