Back Home in Oregon

Although the summer was wonderful, it was so nice to be back home in our own beds and back into our groove.  A couple days after we go back, Devin was headed out the door early in the morning and tells us to come outside quickly.  The twins and I run out in our PJ's and see this amazing hot air balloon right above our house.  One of the things that I like about Oregon is that there are always sweet surprises like this that just make a great memory.  It was a good way to welcome us home.

 I was able to meet up with my dear friend Kelly in Salem a few days after we got home.  She was visiting family and the twins and I could not miss an opportunity to spend some time with her.

The twins built themselves a boat and insisted on getting their life jackets.  Lindsey said that we have to have life jackets on to keep us safe like Dora :)  They even found paddles to use.  I love this stage of creativity and imaginative play!  The best part is that they did this TOGETHER without fighting and without Mommy guiding them!

Uncle Scottie

I love these pictures of Scottie and his nieces and nephews.  These were taken the night before we left.  We had such a nice evening reminiscing about the summer and being together.

8 Years

For our 8 year anniversary Devin and I did what we love to do... went hiking.  It was so nice to go together and have a few hours to ourselves.  We went up Providence Canyon and then went to dinner.  The weekend before we were able to go to Park City while Lillie, Devin's sister watched the twins.  That was our first night away since the twins have been born.  It was so nice and greatly appreciated.  Thank you to our wonderful families for letting us get away and be together for a few hours!

Bike to Lewiston

 I recently have been getting into riding my bike.  It had been providing great exercise but mostly gives me great time to think and rejuvenate.  All summer I wanted to ride from Logan to my parents house in Lewiston which is 22 Miles.  I finally did it not knowing if I could or not. It was fun tackling a challenge and discovering a new hobby for me.

I love this sweet picture of my Grandma Hartley with her great grandchildren.  This was taken over the fourth of July.  We went to the park and had an amazing picnic with her and Aunt Linda.  

Martin Harris Pageant

 My sweet sister got me invited me to go to the Martin Harris Pageant in Clarkston UT.  It was so much fun going with her and her awesome girls.  Thank you for such a fantastic time!!

Owie Shoe

  We almost made it through the summer without a trip to the ER (or intsacare).  Dylan fell down the stairs and broke his leg on August 8th.  He has been such an amazing trooper with all the things that he has been limited with.   The first week he was in a split that was very uncomfortable and he was in so much pain.  The second week he got a blue cast on.  He called it his Owie Shoe. He had his cast on for 5 weeks and is now in the cutest boot.  He is able to walk better and move his Knee.  When he got his cast off the Nurse kept warning me that kids his age usually cry and becoming extremely scared.  Dylan didn't even cry.  He was curious about the saw and was really happy to get special goggles.  The Nurse said that she had been dreading our appointment all day and was extremely surprised that it had been so easy.  Overall, it hasn't been horrible but I do not wish to go through or see Dylan go through it anytime soon.

His cousin Kelsey had the brilliant idea of putting Dylan in Uncle Scottie's wheelchair to keep up with everyone else.  It made him feel like king!

Pehrson Family Camp out

It has been several years since I have had the opportunity to attend the annual Pehrson Family Camp out up Immigration Canyon and then a day at Bear Lake.  I have very good memories as a child going to the camp out spending time with my cousins, playing and eating some fantastic food.  All my Aunts and Uncles were there and many of my cousins, some I haven't seen for a very long time (Steven and Becky).  It was good to spend time with them and be together.  Of course we had some fun adventures which included my niece Kelsey running into a hidden post sticking out of the ground and having to make a run to the ER for several stitches   Overall it was a great time.  Even if it was the third trip to Bear Lake  for the summer.

Dylan loved floating on the air mattress. My Cousin Becky's kids Ryan and Katelynn were right there with him. It was Becky and I always playing on the mattress when were kids. We are trying to teach the next generation the hidden tricks of having a blast at Bear Lake.
